Where plain grey is not permitted
Thousands of the coast's newest driveways sit on covenant land. In Aura, the design essentials for each release generally rule out plain and painted concrete finishes; Harmony's guidelines exclude undecorated grey broom finish, and its driveways are expected done within a tight window of handover. Decorative concrete is not the upgrade in these estates, it is the requirement.
That is this site's home ground. The blend is chosen to your facade palette, the covenant paperwork's finish requirements are read before the quote is written, and the wording that governs your block, which varies by release, is checked in your estate's design guidelines rather than assumed. How the finish happens
Six stages, and one hour that decides everything
Exposed aggregate is unforgiving of shortcuts because the finish IS the structure on show. The reveal happens once, at one window in the cure, and cannot be redone. That is why the process matters more here than on any other concrete surface.
The site measure settles levels, falls and access, and the stone and colour conversation starts against your render, roof and landscaping, with sample boards where the choice is close.
Excavation to a stable base, compacted to suit the ground, formed to neat lines with steel mesh on chairs. The surface only ever looks as good as what carries it.
A 25 MPa mix batched with the chosen stone through it arrives and is placed, screeded and floated without overworking the surface.
A surface retarder goes on behind the float so the paste at the top stays soft while the slab below begins its set. Timing here is the craft.
At the right hour the surface is washed and the paste lifts away to an even, consistent reveal. Too early is patchy, too late is buried; even is everything.
The slab cures, control joints are cut on time, and sealer brings the colour up and locks the surface. Traffic stays off for seven days.

Driveways and patios run $135 to $150 per m2 supplied and installed, pool surrounds $140 to $180. A typical single driveway of about 45 m2 lands between $6,075 and $6,750. Every figure on this site is a guide until the site has been measured; the written quote that follows it is the number that holds.
It grips when wet, which the coast tests every summer storm. It breaks glare instead of bouncing it. It hides the tyre marks, sand and leaf stain that show on plain concrete within a year. And in the estates it is usually what the design covenants expect, since undecorated plain grey is generally not permitted in Aura or Harmony.
That choice is most of the point. Blends are confirmed on sample, not from a screen.

Most driveways and patios are two visits across a week: excavation, base and formwork first, then the pour, wash and joint cutting. Sealing follows once the slab has dried out. Foot traffic is fine the next day, cars stay off a driveway for seven days.
